Sri Ramesh Panchal has been associated with Hindu Samaj
of Hamilton and
Region since its inception in 1970’s and he currently serves as the
the board. He has served in all positions of the temple board. He has
the temple picnic every summer which draws more than 300 people at the
Confederation park. He also attends and plays at Golf tournaments throughout
world, with his golfing friends. He speaks Gujrathi, Punjabi, Swahili and
English with various regional accents of United Kingdom, where he lived for
years. Mr.Panchal has a continuous supply of humorous incidents but is a
stickler to protocol when running the temple. He helped bring the temple to
current standards with hard work during COVID-19.
Sri Anand Verma is the Vice President of the board and through his service
the temple includes volunteering on a continuing basis. Mr.Anand Verma is a
dependable member of the temple as a volunteer and has been a member of the
board. He is very easy going and is very amicable. Mr.Verma also has great
interest in the art of fine cooking and can be found at the temple and at
restaurants, helping to prepare delectable dishes.
Smt.Kiran Gupta, chief finance officer of the te4mple has
been serving on the
board of the Hindu Samaj temple for a long time and has maintained the
accounts for more than 10 years. She has shown great resilience during
and executing under adverse circumstances. She applied for several grants to
keep the temple in working order during 2020-2022 pandemic. She is well
in all aspect of running the temple including managing finances, the temple
property and sequence of festivals. More recently, she has worked tirelessly
get the temple renovations done in an aesthetic manner. She has worked in
finance industry before she retired . She speaks multiple languages
Hindi, Punjabi and English. She has done liaison with several government
agencies during her tenure on the board. She has organized kids to study
Bhagavat Gita and yoga. She has also organized key board lessons, vocal
classes and exercise dance classes for children. She also manages Senior
Mandal and organizes Yoga for seniors. She also served as chair person for
Samaj Women’s Outreach group and presented an excellent program about Diwali
150 Canada birthday celebrations that included multiple the ethnic
of Hamilton at city hall. It was a smashing hit with every one.
Smt.Uma Sharma is the Religious secretary of the Hindu
Samaj Temple. She has
been holding voluntary positions at the temple for many years. She is
the religious secretary and is responsible for scheduling religious
and Mata Ki Chownki with other elders in the temple. She looks after Bala
Piano Classes and children’s programs. She screens candidates who apply for
priests, music teachers, tabla players. She invariably selects the best
to serve the temple. She speaks Punjabi, Hindi and English.
Mr.Jagjit Nayyar is the kitchen secretary and has a
penchant in preparing satvic
dishes at the temple for large number of devotees. He meticulously plans
priti bhoj, several days in advance. His cooking expertise is sought by
temples and he voluntarily helps many restaurants both in Hamilton and GTA.
Mr.Nayyar makes sure that the temple adheres to all fire regulations and
standards for hyegine, set by the government. He invites volunteers to help
to prepare exquisite curries when festive season arrives . Mr. Nayyar keeps
kitchen spotlessly clean. If you volunteer in the kitchen, Mr. Nayyarji is
to help you learn as to how to cook from 100-1000 people.
Markad V. Kamath retired as a senior academic from McMaster University
and has many years research experience in biomedical engineering. He teaches
Sanskrit Mantras to children. He has volunteered for the temple since 2002.
serves as the secretary of the current temple board. He was the vice
during 2008-201. He is currently looking for volunteers to help with temple
activities. He has successfully written grants along with another senior
of the temple. Recently, a grant written by both of them helped fund the
security arrangement at the temple. He speaks Konkani, Kannada, Tulu, Hindi,
English and Tamil.
Mr.Ram Kamath serves the director of the Samaj and has served in several
organizations. Mr.Kamath has served as the president of the temple and also
maintained accounts during his tenure as president. He has served liaison
the government organizations . Mr.Kamath has advanced qualifications in
management which enabled him to serve the Canadian government at senior
for more than 3 decades. When he was working for the government, he helped
recent immigrants from the Indian Subcontinent by training them in processes
the government. He speaks Konkani, Marathi, Hindi and English. He is not
