Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to you and your family!!!

Krishna Janamashtami

Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu was born in a prison at midnight. The prison where his parents were imprisoned was continuously guarded. When the Lord Krishna was born,  all doors of Prison suddenly broke open so that Lord Krishna’s father Vasudev could transport the newborn baby across river Yamuna. Krishna’s birth is celebrated on  the day of his birth, which is usually on the eighth  day of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of the month of Bhadrapada, as per Hindu calendar. Devotees fast on that day and break the fast after the midnight Pooja. Lord Krishna’s Keertans are sung in the temple and Prasad is distributed following Pooja.
